On November 19th and 20th, 2022, the Space Health Division and Mars Society of Canada co-organized their first Space Exploration Conference (SPEX2022) in Montreal, Canada. We thank our partners at the European Space Agency and Politecnico di Torino in collaborating with us in the organization of the Moving to Mars Workshop (M2M) and SPEX2022. A big thank you to Roberto Vittori, Italian Astronaut with ESA, for making the trip across the Atlantic in support of these events! Please visit our SPEX2022 Program to see our conference schedule and speaker lineup.

In joint collaboration of the Mars Society of Canada, Montreal Chapter and the Space Health Division at Concordia University, the Space Exploration Conference aims to bring together passionate and talented students and professionals. The Space Exploration Conference will give a platform to seven different industries involved in space exploration: Propulsion & Engine development, Satellites, Medicine & Life Sciences, Space Law & Policies, Robotics, Habitat Development, and Analog Missions. Save the date for November 19th & 20th, 2022!

As we approach the end of the year, we would like to take a moment to reflect on everything that we have accomplished at the Space Health Group:

  • Becoming 1 of the 4 candidate teams selected for the SEDS CAN-RGX Parabolic Flight

  • Working on our first payload mission with our biological experiment

  • Developing a heart simulator that will be used for performing Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) in microgravity conditions

  • Participating in outreach events at the Cosmodôme and organizing spacesuit workshop for children

We would also like to thank our members for their hard work, commitment, and dedication. We are looking forward to 2022!
